The Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Op. 23, was composed between November 1874 and February 1875 with piano virtuoso Nikolai Rubinstein in mind as soloist.[1] It was revised in the summer of 1879 and again in December 1888. It is considered perhaps the most popular of Tchaikovsky's works and among the best known of all piano concertos.[2]

Messiah (HWV 56) is an oratorio by George Frideric Handel based on a libretto by Charles Jennens. Composed in the summer of 1741 and premiered in Dublin on the 13 April 1742, Messiah is Handel's most famous creation and is among the most popular works in Western choral literature. The very well-known "Hallelujah" chorus is part of Handel's Messiah.
