Aleksandra Pileva - "Ne" (No) Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 197 seconds A beautiful ballad from the 2005 Macedonian heat which finished 3rd place. Much better than Martin Vucic's joke by a million miles. Related: 2005, aleksandra, eurovision, fyrom, ne, pileva |

Valanto Trifonos - "After You" (Cypriot heat 2006) Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 238 seconds 4th placed song in 2006 Cypriot heat. This would have been the winner, if it was not for the flawed televoting system that was in place. A beautiful touching ballad. Related: after, ballad, cyprus, eurovision, trifonos, valanto, you |

(Eurosong 1996) - Sean Monaghan - "Amhran an ronnach" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 191 seconds =5th placed song. This is a horror. Described as techno-cajun by Pat Kenny, this song is nothing but a tuneless rambling accompioned by some lively cajun music. You have to see this for the female backing singer/dancer, who seems she had a bit too much Guiness ;) This should have been last, no question. (Eurosong 1996) Marian Fossett - "This Time" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 184 seconds 8th (last) placed song. Marian was part of Sheeba who represented Ireland in 1981 with "Horoscopes", and had participated in two other Irish selections in 1982 and 1984 with "Go raibh magh aghat" and "My love and you". This song is pleasent ballad, but nothing exceptional though I think last was undeserved. Related: 1996, eurovision, fossett, ireland, marian, sheeba |

Miranda - "I am here" (Eurosong 1997) Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 195 seconds 7th placed song. A very well song ballad about a friend who has a broken heart, but I think the way too short skirt of Miranda, and the presentation on stage with the two backing singers might have had a contribution to the low placing. A shame as with the right image and presentation, it could have been in Top 3. Related: 1997, ballad, dodgyfashion, eurosong, ireland, miranda, short, skirt |

(Eurosong 1993) - Last Jury Waterford. Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 58 seconds The last jury in the 1993 Irish final. As you can see, the result is a foregone conclusion ;) Related: 1993, eurovision, ireland, voting |

(Eurosong 1993) Champ - "Second Time Around" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 188 seconds Runner-up in this heat. Kind of an overrated runner-up I believe, as I think this is one of the weakest songs. Very Irish country and western type of song. Related: 1993, champ, country, eurosong, ireland, irish, western |

Litesound - "My Faith" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 226 seconds The 6th place song in the 2006 Eurofest to decide the Belarussian entry for Eurovision that year. A very memorable soft-rock song, with a lead singer than has a twinkle in his eye and a very strong voice. Much better than Polina Smolova's "mess". Related: 2006, belarus, eurofest, faith, litesound, my, rock |

Alfie - "One" (NMGP 2003) Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 234 seconds 2nd place in the 2003 Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix. A mid-paced rock ballad, with a memorable chorus and rather meaningful. Much better than what they sent imo, but I think this would have just made the top 10. Related: 2003, alfie, ballad, nmgp, norsk, one, rock |

(Eurosong 1996) William Byrne + Lorraine Nolan "Once Again" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 196 seconds =5th placed song. Pleasent ballad, with two strong voices about two distant lovers. Duet works well together and are well suited. Related: 1996, again, ballad, eurovision, ireland, once |

(Eurosong 1993) Off The Record - "Hold Out" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 180 seconds 6th place. Not the best song lyrically, but it deserved a bit better. The lead singer Yvonne Holmes will return in 1996 with a song composed by the composers of this song. Early 90s pop ballad. Related: 1993, ballad, eurovision, ireland, off, record, the |

Mandy - "Tell me Why" (NSF2004) Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 197 seconds This Kylie-esque dance song was eliminated in the wildcard round of the 2004 Nationaal Songfestivaal which was the competition to choose the Dutch entry in the Eurovision Song Contest. Would this have done better than Re-Union? I am certain it would. Mandy was also a member of Dutch girlband WOW! who had a few hits in the late 90s with "Keer op Keer" and "Lekker lang Lekker". (Eurosong 1996) - Dav McNamara - "Missing You" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 200 seconds Runner-up. This is the best song, never to go to a Eurovision. Emotional lyrics, brilliant voice about a woman missing the lover who has left her. Dav sings with this emotion and to me she should have gone to Oslo, and would have won easily. Dav also came 4th in the 1993 Eurosong with "Stay" Related: 1996, ballad, dav, eurovision, ireland, mcnamara |

Scorpion "Tell Me" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 194 seconds 9th position in the 2004 Cypriot finals for Eurovision. An interesting song with a catchy chorus and remiscent of Madonna circa 1990/1991. Related: 2004, cyprus, eurovision, me, scorpion, tell |

Michelle Costello - "Never Far Away" (Eurosong 1997) Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 186 seconds 8th (last) placed song. Mid-tempo rock number, which lacks a strong chorus. The distracting point in this, is the singers decision to wear a see-thru top with a burgundy jacket! Not right at all. Related: 1997, ballad, costello, disaster, eurovision, fashion, ireland, michelle, rock |

Tommy Quinn - "Good Life" (Eurosong 1997) Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 188 seconds 4th placed song. Mid-tempo pop number, perhaps the weakest of the eight in my opinion. Related: 1997, contest, eurovision, good, ireland, life, mid-tempo, quinn, song, tommy |

(Eurosong 1997) - Darren Holden - "Suddenly" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 185 seconds Runner-up. Worthy runner-up I believe, as this is a strong song and the performer has a very good voice and stage presence. Romantic ballad, which I think would have done well in 1997. My favourite of this selection. (The sound may sound out of sync with the pic, due to the copy I recieved of this final) Related: 1997, ballad, darren, eurovision, holden, ireland |

(Eurosong 1993) Patricia Roe - "If you changed your mind" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 183 seconds 3rd placed song. Patricia tried the year before with "Your Love" that was 2nd behind Linda Martin in the Irish heats. This is an emotional ballad. Related: 1993, ballad, esc, eurovision, ireland, patricia, roe |

(Eurosong 1996) Rob Burke Band - "Gotta know right now" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 194 seconds 3rd place song. A bit country and western type of song, but it's not my cup of tea and I think 3rd was overrated with the juries. Related: 1996, band, burke, country, eurovision, ireland, rob |

Marcella - "I Never Thought" Posted by: NN2006
Video duration: 184 seconds A particpant in the 2nd Moldovan final of 2006. A very quirky 1920s type song with a stage presentation that was probably inspired by Arsenie in Athens. Related: 2006, eurovision, jazz, marcella, moldova, never, thought |
